as long as they retain the sd card slot still it would be cool
Memory is cheap. It's everything else you are paying for.Ahhh, but what would be the COST? I mean, the 64Gb ran close to 1000.00, so what would that much more on board storage cost??
I don't care much about the card slot if I have that much on-board storage(which is faster), I know it's nice to have stuff on the card, but I could live without it.
If you haven't encrypted the card!I know what you mean and I wouldn't really need 512 gb either..... until the phone breaks and I can access my stuff, I like the idea of the 512 internal that can be backed up to a 512 sd without having to rely on cloud services and data plans or access to half decent WiFi.
overkill for most but I love convenience, pull out card and plug it in the new one and no downloads needed

Well that gets em the Chinese market! One can only hope this will be available for the Note 9.

It's perceived value they can charge extra for. They just need to be competitive for the market. Mass production means it should be relatively cheap for them. I guess we'll see down the road.Memory is cheap. It's everything else you are paying for.

I would have gone completely the other way. Getting rid of the SD card is the best reason to increase storage by this much

Yes they did. It's just not available in the US.Samsung didn't even put 128GB or 256GB in their flagships this year. Why would they put 512GB in their phones next year?
We'll get 128GB next year...if we're lucky.
