Go ahead and ask me how pissed off I am at myself.....Deleted about 80-90 front row center pictures of our Joe Bonamassa concert yesterday on my SD card. Clearly I have NO IDEA how to use the SD card and the "My Files" app on our Note 8.

I posted a thread here the other day and B. Diddy was kind enough to chime in and try and help as I asked why my files jumped from 22 to 96 folders and also why they were also appearing on my SD card. I was under the impression that the ONLY thing being saved to my SD card were the photos I took, but for some reason all of my system files are being saved to my SD card too.

So just a couple hours ago I went into SD card storage and deleted these folders/files, of which one was called DCIM. Do NOT delete that!!!! All of our concert pictures are permanently gone....

Cant tell you all how upset we are....

Do you not use a cloud photo service for backup? Google photos is a must! (And free unlimited storage) Would've saved you the frustration.

Dammmmnnnnn.....Lol. I would be peed off too. I've done that before twice but with only a couple photos. First time I had no backup. Last time I had them on my Google photos and Verizon cloud. Even tho I prefer Google photo. My Verizon cloud full and I ain't paying for more lol. I pay Verizon enough money.

In the past I used Google Photos but hated how it seemed to reload all the pictures every time I opened the app. Did I have it set up wrong? I'd try it again, but I'm so used to iPhones in the past where I take a pic and it on my Mac, iCloud and photo stream instantly.

I'd ultimately like to store originals on my SD card and back ups on Google Photos or somewhere.....Can someone help me with that?

Thanks all

One more....We are SO SAD over the photos we lost...Words can't describe. Obviously big fans of JB. Joe was a trooper!! He was under the weather and not feeling well at all and he played his *** off. Imagine being sick and having to perform for 2 hours in front of thousands. Thank you Joe B.

Do you have a pc (& an SD adapter) you can view the SD card on? I've used an app called Recuva (free IIRC) and another, Easeus Data Recovery Wizard (I paid for the pro version) to recover deleted files from hard drives and SD cards.

I've gotten better results from one or the other at different times.

** Not sure why the app keeps making that long arse link. Should be:

www dot piriform dot com / recuva

I have a PC and a MacBook Pro. So you think that the pics might be recoverable on the SD card?

Yes. This. There are plenty of options available online. I'm sure it's a lot easier to recover pictures. I was trying to recover videos from a dashcam I deleted.

Hi,
I installed Google Photos last night, unfortunately no concert pics. :'(

If you have added your Google ID to your phone before the concert, go to photos.google.com on a computer and see if they are online. However if possible, turn off the backup on the Google photos app you just installed on your phone, since if Google photos sees them gone from your phone, it may try to remove them online (if they were there).

Take out the card so you don't overwrite anything now and try a recovery app as le above poster. If you haven't overwritten it (saved other files) there is hope
