How do you think you'll be affected by samsung no longer storing third party app data from February 6?

Really!?!? Golly, they've blocked access to samsung cloud, that seems like an invasion of privacy.

I have an unlocked, unbranded phone, so no interference.

I'm happy enough that Smart Switch covers it and I can make a hard backup to my SD card. Having cloud backup took out the hassle of having to remember to make regular backups though.

I don't use it, but it sounds like a crappy move to pull on people who bought your product, both free accounts and paid.

Yeah, I was thinking of using smart switch on sd card, as a backup, and then copying to pc too. But as you say it's remembering to do it, lol.

Not sure what you mean, but samsung will still backup all their own stuff.

I had it and used it, but Sammy told me recently that it's full. if they do that, it will actually help me, I think. might get space back.

You are probably storing your pictures and music there. They are enabled by default. That will fill up your free 15 gb so quickly. Make sure pictures and music are checked off.

I am on Verizon so I can't use it. I don't use Verizon cloud either. I use Google for phone backups and OneDrive for everything else.

It's really stupid that Verizon does this. We should have the option to use which service we want to use. If Samsung cloud was on my note8 I would use it out of spite haha. So I use Google photos and drive. Did use Verizon cloud til I filled it up. Refuse to pay them for more space.

thanks! yeah. I did know that and chose not to turn off. I have Sammy's cloud turned off now. it's okay, but I use dropbox pro anyway and I sync google's things. it was just a third backup. I can live...

I'm looking for an alternative to Samsung. The way they have deprecated the features on the Note line has convinced me. And I've owned all the Notes except 1 and 7.

It has a stylus and that's the Only reason I have a Note 8.

Samsung is just a company and, no, the Note 8 isn't the greatest device of all time. The screwing up of the stylus software is a reason in itself. And there are a number of others.

The last great Note was the 4 in my humble opinion.
