using a backup s7edge whilst this one goes to the phone hospital :)
It had a spigen crystal armor on it but just fell flat onto a metal strip across the door jam, then bounced onto the concrete outside, it was the metal strip that did the damage, I think.

You can see there is a Spigen Crystal Case on it, it made no difference however as along the long edges of the screen the case offers zero protection and the screen hit left to right side of screen flat onto the metal strip along the front door. Not stressing but with or without case result would've been the same :)

Yeah it's up to the angle it falls and hits some people get lucky sometimes they don't

would a case that actually protects the front of the phone ... as in, a lip that goes higher than the front glass on the vertical sides and not just the top have helped here? This is why I hate the curved glass.
