Software Update - T-Mobile

I got a firmware update over the weekend but yet to download it. I haven't read anything on here or anywhere else regarding it. I know the S9 and S9+ had updates. What could this be?

That's odd. T-Mobile has always announced their Note8 firmware updates in advance on their update page:
https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-36189

There's nothing about a new one this month, and I get nothing when I try to update my phone.

Which firmware version are you already on? Last month's update was CRE1.

Never mind it was a AOD update. Kinda odd to place it in the settings update.

May is the security version, not the firmware version. Multiple firmware versions can share the same security version. The latest T-Mobile firmware version so far is CRE1.

Just installing a system update on my Note 8 on Virgin Mobile Canada. Seems to be dated June 1, 2018 and is 391 MB. Seems very slow and has been at it for 10 minutes.

I updated on Verizon this morning. It was early, before work so I didn't pay much attention, but it was at least the June security patch.

i have t-mobile and i got the firmware update for android 8.0 for a while now. i have not updated it due to mixed reviews (negative and positive) from users. i am hoping the next release android 8.1 would be more solid.

that said, anyone happens to know the release date for android 8.1 ??

Don't count on getting 8.1. I have never seen any Samsung phones get the .1 release. Only Google branded phones get those such as the Pixel and the Nexus phones in the past. We'll just continue getting security updates from now on. The next major release will be 9.0 next spring.

that's too bad. i plan to stay on android 7 for a while longer since there are so many mixed reviews after upgraded to 8.0.

on the other note, is it even possible to downgrade back to 7.0 once upgraded to 8.0?
