Reading the Note 8 section in Reddit, someone was discussing battery health and posted a screenshot of their battery health % using an app called AccuBattery. Looks similar to how Apple shows battery health in iOS so I downloaded it.

I preordered my Note 8 and got it in October so we’re talking about 15 months old now. I thought it was interesting, not surprised, and seems like a harmless app so I bought the pro version and keep it on the phone to see how battery does next 12 months.

Be interesting to see how other Note 8 users are faring and would be interesting to see how Note 9 users battery are after only a few month. Post your AccuBattey health results here if curious.

I got my Note 8 in early Sept 2017 and my SOT has been averaging between 5-6 hours throughout. Phone has been running extremely well with excellent reception, fast data loading and a display that is is near perfect condition without any screensaver. Just loaded accubattery to my phone and will report back 'capacity' after a number of charging, discharging sessions. For the record, it's been the BEST phone I've ever used and with all the credits I will be receiving from Verizon, my end cost will be $265.00

It would be interesting to see some health numbers. Now Samsung did make claim that the Note 8 battery would retain 95% of capacity after two year which in my case obviously not and I predict most won't. But it has been a great phone and for me can get through the day and that usually charging up to 85% and plugging in usually around 20%.

That’s quite a hit in capacity. Be interesting to see if still at 80% after a few more charge cycles.

Are you using Fast Charge? I’ve disabled fast charge on my phone pretty much since getting the phone. Fast charge generates more heat which equals to more wear on a battery so I’ve charged at snails pace in favor for extending life.

Remained at 80% after a few more cycles. Have spoken with Verizon about the 95% 'marketing statement' by the Mobile Chief at Samsung and they understand my 'concerns'. I'm sure that something will get worked out in the next couple of days. And for the record, I always fast charge, my phone always remains cool and run no social media or and keep the phone in Conservative settings to optimize battery 'health'.

Four ... all are consistent with 80%. My 'wear' chart shows approx .92 charging from 40% to 100% on average, on fast charge setting. IF... I can obtain much lower wear results like the OP and not fast charge, that would work for me. However, if I have to do the 40% to 80% charging, I would have to take a serious look at this.

Unless you have the same measurements from the same app when the phone was new, I'm not sure the numbers you are seeing are really definitive as far as any diminished capacity.

I don't think Accubattery is accurate at all.

I broke the display on my Note 8 back in August and had it replaced at iBreakUFix. Supposedly, they replacements include a new battery as well. I've only started using my Note 8 again this past month and according to Accubattery, my capacity is 90%.

If the battery is original and my Note 8 was bought on launch day, 90% sounds about right for a 1.5 year old phone.

Otherwise, I don't really believe this app is correct.

Will the phone be covered under warranty for the 95% capacity? I just went to iBreakUFix and they had mine at 89% after 1 year with about ~450 charge cycles. I've always had terrible battery life and now I can't get through the day. Last time went from 8-4 and only 3 hours on screen time before it died.

I got installed a new Factory fresh Samsung battery via Ubreakit at 50% shared cost with Verizon. The new battery is 3208 capacity.
