My Note 8 is factory unlocked, purchased from Samsung, operating on AT&T. I'm on December update.

Mine is factory locked and still on October. When you go to AT&T website it is still saying the last update is the October one. Weird.

Yeah I posted about this on reddit after getting a lot of responses from Verizon owners I realize that AT&T has let us down and we are stuck in October. I even erased my phone at new year for completely different reason and no update.

Lame. So much for future proof when carrier stops supporting your phone.

This is pretty ridiculous that all the other carriers are now on Jan and we are still stuck on Oct.

Yeah, technically, AT&T has to update their phones within 90 days of a security patch release to stay within Google's "suggested" guidelines. So, they have until Feb 1. Doesn't mean they absolutely will follow that.

But AT&T have been fairly good about staying current on security patches. Only letting it slip a few months just a couple of times all last year.

The AT&T S9 is at least on the Nov 1 security patch, but it's starting to get late too.

True, but being an AT&T branded phone means it will only show you what AT&T allows. And right now, the Oct. patch is "current".

Yes, what Is available at that moment.
Att has a history on Samsung phones in letting out updates , some go no problems while others stuck forever until you flash it .

In this case it seems AT&T just plain dropped the ball on all their Note 8 owners and October is the latest.

They have been good on this phone since launch until now. Not the end of the world but it does irk me a bit.
