6GB of RAM vs 8GB of RAM

Now that the Note9 has a 4000mAh battery, I want to get as much juice as I can out of it and I'm wondering if 8GB of RAM will be a bigger drain on the battery than the 6GB of RAM? I'm assuming it's a bigger drain when you're working with graphics-intensive games, but other than that, will it be that much of a difference on battery life?

Well the price for the 8gb ram on tmobile confirms I'll get the 6gb ram. No way I'm paying at least $1200 for a darn phone.

Definitely considering the 8gb version ONLY if 1) I can get the price down with trade in (my S8+) and 2) it can be shown the extra 2gb won't be a battery drain (waiting for YouTube to show testing)

I went with the 6GB for a few reasons, my current phone has only 4GB so even the 6GB is a big jump, it's cheaper and by the time we will need 8GB we will be upgrading anyway and at that point it will be a common amount of RAM to have, as for the storage there's no way I need 512GB, 128GB is nearly 10x what my current phone has and if I need more I can just get an SD card and get the same as the pricier version.

I went with 6gb. Even with the s8 plus trade in, that is still too much to justify spending on a phone. I will never use nearly have that space anyway. the 8gb would be nice but not that big of a price difference.

I agree, it stinks because I want the 8gb of RAM, but there is no way I would ever need all that storage.

So since many of us pre ordered already, when do you think they will ship? Could we possibly see it by the end of next week maybe?

I'm going to get the 8GB version just because I'll be able to sell my stupid iPhone X for like $800. That'll offset most of the cost of the Note9.

Let's keep the shipping talk in the pre-order threads. We don't need every thread turning into a shipping discussion. Thanks :).

For those who change phone frequently, 6GB is definitely enough, I'm sure Note 8 users will agree. But if you're looking at using it for a couple more years, 8GB is more future proof?

6GB more than enough for me as I will have the phone for around 2 years by which time I will get the S11(?) my current phone is only 4GB and close to 3 years old and is still alright for normal tasks.
