I picked up my phone this morning, went to send a text, and it looks like the keyboard is smaller. Is it just me?

Yes. The only thing I didn't care for was that you couldn't get the keyboard smaller then all of a sudden today, it's smaller. Doesn't show being updated but I like it.

In phone settings check your display resolutions. Switching between fhd and wqhd changes the swiftkey board size.

Oh man. You had me all excited that they fixed the keyboard. I am patiently editing for my keyboard to go back to my normal size. It's so darn gigantic. Sometimes I change my resolution just to look and see what I am missing.

Come on SwiftKey. Please fix our keyboards.

Okay. I don't have my Note9 yet. But, is this a Note9 issue? I'm a little bit confused on how one phone has a keyboard size issue.
Wouldn't this issue be prevalent on all similar resolution screens?
Did anyone post any screenshots yet to illustrate the issue?

What bassplayrguy refers to is inherent due to the changes in screen resolution. 1st screenshot on FHD and 2nd on QWHD. I first noticed it on the S7edge. I only use SwiftKey so cannot speak for the effect on other boards

Both of these keyboards look the same size to me, except that the caps lock is not on one of them.

Focus on how much of the post info you can see between the two keyboards 👍🏻

Here is a split screen between the two screenshots. The difference is like a couple mm. The second one also has an ad in it.

Okay. Just to lend some perspective here. I got my Note9 today and my SwiftKey keyboard is friggin HUGE compared to what it was. QHD+ resolution and second or third from smallest font size. Keyboard is set to small size and it's over half the screen high.

I think they may have fixed it today. I just picked up my phone to send a text and the SwiftKey board is nice and small. It's only taking up part of my screen. I know an hour ago this was not the case. It was still huge. Yay!

I did a quick double check to make sure my resolution hadn't somehow changed. Whew.

Yeah, I upgraded via playstore updates today, and the sizing is now appropriate to the selection.

I was thinking, "It's been fixed for a few week". Forgot that I am on the beta version. LOL

Oh man. Wish I had known. I tried the beta a couple weeks back and didn't see a difference. Oh well. It's fixed. I'm happy.

I really hope the developers did a long term fix. It doesn't seem like a good plan to do an individual update for each Samsung phone as they release. I imagine more than a few people have up waiting and moved on to Gboard or decided to stick with the stock Samsung keyboard.

It's up to you. I'd been using the blackberry keyboard for a decade, including on my note 8 and note 9, but I also used the Samsung keyboard on my Samsung tablets.

The Samsung keyboard is okay, and like with all keyboards it needs to build up vocab and words the way you want to use it.

Same with Microsoft's SwiftKey which I also started to use a couple of months ago.

I quite like SwiftKey and suspect I do type faster and more accurately with it. It's picked up the way I think quite fast.

So, I switch between the 3 keyboards just for a change. 😁

Now, if only SwiftKey would allow us to have true theme customization. I would love it if we could adjust the color, size, and font of the keyboard keys and change the glide color. I bet they could start charging for their software again if they added this customization.

Meanwhile, it's still my favorite keyboard and now it's the right size.
