This was one of the reasons I bought the Note 9; the 4000mah battery. The Note may not be the best at everything but I'm loving the battery life.

While that's good news for Note9 owners, it wouldn't sway me in the least, purchase-wise, if it was the other way around.

And in other tests the Xs Max has better battery than Note. I own them both and in my use my Xs Max has much better battery life than my Note 9. Can’t kill the Xs Max in one day but my Note 9 is not hard to kill, have to top it up in the afternoon. Even my old P20 Pro had better battery life than my Note.

That's good that you actually have both and tested it out.
My experience with my note 9hrs SOT and over a day battery with everything sync up and on .

Do you have the Snapdragon? I have the Exynos and the battery is nothing that I am happy about, it is ok but was hoping for much better with such a large battery

I have the snapdragon, I'm surprised usually the Exynos is better.

This year the exynos seems crap. Had bad battery life with S9+ also

Hmmm... I have the Snapdragon as well. Is there that much of a difference between the Snapdragon and the Exynos?

There shouldn't be but in years past the Exynos was more Superior.

Lots of people rage about the Exynos chip in the Note 9 but I find it ok. I get good life throughout the day and I'm pleased so far, but there are lots of parameters as to why batteries differ from phone to phone, network signal being a big factor also.

Exynos used to be better all around, battery and speed etc. Now the tables turned and the 845 is the superior chip.

Maybe because the Note 9 is a power packed beast of a phone/pocket computer compared to the Xs Max. You also may be using the Note 9 more than the Xs Max. Because there's more you can do with it.

Iphone batteries when in actual use (using the phone) always seemed to drain faster to me than Android, now standby time is a different story and IOS is king.

I really feel IOS uses a ton of power when in actual use and saves a great deal of standby.

Maybe this is why they say IOS always had data leakage when the phone isn't in actual use.

The apps use a crapload of data which in turns eats battery.

I use my Max a lot more as almost everything works better on it. Yet I love the Note 9. Was thinking of sending it back to Samsung but decided to keep it

iPhone X aggressively sleeps and closes apps great for battery standby, apps are also slower to load.

Note 9 none if above and uses more battery.

Loading web pages, Samsung over Safari

Hard to believe iOS really had adequate beta test when it's released. I'm on 12.1b3

    Note 9 doesn't need Oreo 8.2

Stylus: rumors of iPhone support greatly exaggerated

    WiFi and cellular: Note

The iphone always had data leakage issues from some apps. It's alot of reports out there how people who have their phones on standby are burning 700 to 1 gig a week data at times. Lots of articles about it.

I think it's the way apps are programmed, very resource intensive when in actual use while android has much less quality apps they tend to be much lighter per app.
