Note 9 taking forever to charge

I used to have a note 5, and even when it was plugged in and I was using it, it would still fast charge or at least charge to an extent. I recently purchased the note 9 and even though I'm using it, it has gone up maybe 3% in the last ten minutes. Is that normal..? It seems obnoxiously slow

When I'm actively using my note 9 while it's on the charger it only charges slow if I plugged it up at 15% or lower. If my battery percent is higher it charges regularly .How low is the phone when you plug it in?

After setting up and getting updates and apps installed good idea to wipe cache partition.

If though you transferred or restored, that can cause problems.

Assuming cable and plug are up to snuff and you don't have crazy background tasks running crazy. Facebook, big offender.
