I want to buy the Note 9, however I've heard that the FPS is little uncomfortable to reach and use. It's kinda a deal-breaker for me, cause I really care about the ergonomics of any phone. All I want to know how uncomfortable it is in terms of daily usage?

I find it comfortable, if you can check it out in the store see how you feel about it.

It's so much better than the Note 8 and you can swipe. It's fast and accurate. I have small hands but longer fingers than most women (they are as long as most mens fingers) so you should use one at the store to be sure.

Better than on 8. Find my case makes it a breeze and easier too.

Also the Iris + face is faster and better.

As others have said, I used the "Iris Sensor" on my Note 8 because that was uncomfortable but I'm now using the FPS on my Note 9 because the repositioning has made that much of a difference for me! It's right where you'd expect it to be and even when I hold it in either hand!!!

I keep reconfiguring mine, cause it doesn't work most of the time. which, I do not blame it on the phone because I have a weird combi of dry and sweaty fingers.

however as one of them has said above, swiping seems to work more often for me than just placing my finger on the fingerprint sensor

I find it no worse or better than the Note 8, I prefer the old school phones with the FPS on the front.

I really like the placement, and find it fast and reliable. I'm a fan for sure.

I hated the placement on the Note 8 for that reason, I would use the PIN function to unlock phone or for Samsung Pay. Once I got the Note 9, I started using the FPS again.

I've heard some folks complain that it's too close to the camera, but I don't feel this way at all. I love it. I went from a Pixel to an iPhone X, and now to a Note 9, and am surprised by how much I missed the FPS. Strange, actually.

No it isn't. The fingerprint scanner is the fastest way to unlock the phone from a raw speed perspective. It's almost instant when you touch the scanner, the Iris and face stuff takes a half second.

    Comfort is subjective.
I imagine hand size and finger length would play a big part.
I can tell you that my FPS gets dirty and unresponsive easily. I clean it with alcohol or an eye glass wipe, often.

It is ok and way better than the Note 8 and S8+. It is though (imo) not as comfortable as other options out there.

To me, it's like anything else. You adapt. if it's on the front, on the back to the left, on the back centered. You adapt and adjust. I've had a lot of Samsungs and had the fingerprints in all of those positions, adapting to each without too much issue. I like where it is on the Note 9. I rarely ever have an issue reaching it or having it work on the first try, as needed.

It is what it is. I have zero issues with it. Just like the other countless devices I have owned with a fps.
    As said, you adapt.

In combination with trusted places, face or iris unlock et al it works great.

Personally I liked the fps on the front of my OP3 / T best.
Think the underscreen one on the Note 10 will be pretty good also.

I've had the phone for exactly a month now. The fingerprint scanner is in a comfortable spot for me. You easily get used to it after a couple of days (especially if you are used to big phones).

Hated the location on the Note 8 but as with anything else, adapted and life went on. Not a life or death learning curve.
Now having to relearn with the note 9... I'm sure I'll be fine... LOL
Going from Blackberry to touch screen phones was a real learning curve. Did I just show my age?

The note 9 fingerprint sensor is even more comfortable using a Spigen Tough Armor case. You just slide right in, and very reactive. Sorry for the use of words. I find I use the Note 9 fingerprint sensor the most out of them all.
