Agreed. My understanding is that the exynos versions already have the updates. It is mainly the unlocked US models for some reason.

In the US , the carrier get in the way of that .
US unlocked usually quarterly updates.

Quarterly? The latest (CSF9) firmware update for the US unlocked Note9 (N960U1) is its 12th firmware update so far:

Sure but that's ancient history--it's a year-old article about an older phone. The US unlocked Note9 has been averaging more than one firmware update per month (albeit at uneven intervals).

So they might be getting slightly better, or changing it up who knows but they are pretty much last .

Well, at the moment, the unlocked US Note9s are receiving the CSF9 firmware (July security level), while the carrier models are still on CSF1, CSF2, or CSF3 (June security level).
