An Update Finally!!

Finally got a software update today - Android 10 + Dec 1st 2019 security patch. While I'm happy to have finally moved from an almost 4mth old security patch (Nov 1st) to a 3mth old one, I'm wondering why NZ is so far behind for this particular device.

The Note 8 & S9 series are still on Android 9, but even they at least got the Jan 1st security patch several weeks ago, while the S10 & Note 10 series were updated to the Feb 1st patch & Android 10 some weeks ago too. It's not just my carrier, all NZ stock Note 9s are only up to Dec 1st. The only ppl to be on higher than this have parallel imported overseas models. Most annoying for an only 18mth old, high end & very expensive device!

All I can say is that Samsung updates in mysterious ways.......which are often extremely annoying. Ironically my Note 9 has the February security patch but my Note 10 Plus just got the January one. Could market size be a consideration in how updates are distributed? New Zealand has a very very small population.

Yeah we're a small country and never among the first places to receive updates, but that doesn't explain it in this case, as everything else is on a much newer security patch than the Note 9. In fact even the Note 8 is on Feb now. I'm still on December. Where abouts are you? The NZ Note 10 stock got the Feb update a few weeks ago.
