Photo Gallery issue

Does anyone know how to restrict music album images from appearing in the Gallery?

Other photo album apps (eg QuickPic) allow you to restrict certain folders (eg the Music folder) from being scanned for images but I can't find this option on the built-in Gallery. The result is a new photo album is created for all my hundreds of audio books!
The Gallery has many features others don't have but this issue makes it very frustrating to use. The Note 3 and 4 have the same problem

Does anyone know how to hide audio folders from the Gallery?

That's tricky, since adding a .nomedia file to the Audio folder would also make it invisible to your music player app. Is the artwork in a separate subfolder, or is it just embedded with the audiobook?
