OK I may be a little late after all of the months I've had my Note Pro 12.2. I had no idea that you could screen capture by holding the S pen button and pressing on the screen. I was bit perturbed that it wasn't the same as on my 10.1 but not so much anymore.

Yes that is the screen write function, very handy. The only thing about that feature is there is a little bit of blur applied to the capture to bring focus to what you write over the capture. If one doesn't want this effect then holding home and power button saves an unchanged capture to gallery.

Have you also tried the palm-swipe for screen capture. Hold hand as if for karate chop, on left or right hand edge of screen (touching screen) and swipe hand across the screen to the other edge. Puts capture into clipboard.
