well after reading some posts on a small part of the forum ...i am a bit confused.
my 3 yr old note pro stopped working. a local 'tech person' suggested possibly battery has failed. so, i have found i can buy a replacement. please, how can i tell if it is the battery and not some other issue. battery usage has always been good and the only time i have ever had a flickering screen(as i assume is the same as many have referred to) was a couple of times over a couple of days prior to it not turning on again.

Welcome to Android Central! There's no way to tell unless you open up the device and either try a new battery or test the voltage of the current one.

If a new battery doesn't help, then it'd be difficult to recover data from internal storage -- you'd have to look into a forensic data recovery specialist, which could cost a lot of money.

It's hard to comment on 3rd party batteries, since the more generic they are, the worse the quality control may be (in general). Anker and Seidio are two well-known and trusted battery makers, but I'm not sure if they make internal batteries for your tablet. OEM is always best, if you can find it.
