Phone won't recognize SD card

Randomly yesterday my phone stopped recognizing my SD card. No pictures, no music, half my apps gone, I can't take new photos, I don't know what happened. It's 1 GB on my Samsung SCH R910 phone. I go to SD Card and phone storage but even with the card inserted the four areas are greyed out. Did my card burn out and did I lose everything on it? Thank you.

Try a new card and see if that works. May be the card. I know I had a static discharge on my old winmo phone where SD was (external accessible) and it ruined the filesystem. I did recover most with some file recovery utility on PC though don't remember what program I used, there are lots of them amd I tried a few to get good results. Card was still ok to use after reformatting.
