    I'm in an area that won't get lte till late this year so i'm looking to turn it off till then. I haven't found any way to do that, and I don't want the lte radio sucking battery for the next few m

    could be wrong, but i dont think it pulls lte power if you are not in a lte area..

    seems I get longer battery life at home (not lte area) than I do at work (boston - lte area).

    put it in flight mode is an option when you dont need it

    there is no known way at this time to turn it off except installing another rom. you can google about it. I'd love to be able to turn it off myself.

    Install the cyanogenmod rom from xda, it has an option to only use 2g

    don't know about your carrier, but with rogers > settings > wireless > mobile network > network mode
