phone wont turn completely off??

If i remember correctly when i had my nexus you could plug in the charger and then turn off the phone, then it would be off but show charging status.. my new skyrocket just turns back on when you power off while charging...so basically it wont turn off. *confused*

Hold the power button down until it gives you the power off dialog. Once you power it down then a quick tap of the power button gives you the charging status.

doesnt seem to work. the samsung logo comes on right when it turns off and then powers back on.

fixed this a while ago and didnt see all the replies lol. i let the battery drain down fully and then charge it back up. (didnt actually do that since i got back from buying the phone ) that solved the power off issue. now im able to see the battery charging animation
