SGH-T989D SII X Telus
First post, complete noob here, beware... annoying questions ahead: I have owned this phone for almost 2 years. It wouldn't charge or turn on so I tried the reboot power and volume buttons, then I opened it and ruined the antenna, then after plugging it in to my computer 5 times it started and has been fine since. Anyways, the antenna on this model is rare to find so I tried one that is about an inch too long and it works. I notice now that the phone is not quite as snappy as it was, but I think I have better reception maybe? The new antenna does not have the copper clip in the middle of the wire. Is this ok? How do i know what version os the phone is running? I have never updated it.
Incidently I was scouring ebay and I did find a very similar looking antenna for the Galaxy S Captivate SGH-I897 so I bought it, but I couldn't wait so I found the wire I installed in town for $5.
