Updating to 2.2 with an unlocked unit...

Hello,

When the update comes out for the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant unit, and if the phone is unlocked, would we still be able to get OTA update of the new 2.2 firmware update even though the phone was bound to a different service provider?

what do you mean by unlocked??

if you are using on another carrier then you will have a problem with the update process, that does not mean you will not be able to get it but you will have to manually flash it.
Are you trying to say that you have rooted the device? then we have no idea about that we at XDA think it will be fine but that all depends on how far you have modified the device...
I personally have only root and removed AT&T bloat ware. so I think it will be fine.
