how to connect phone pickup as external mic on Samsung Galaxy S smarphone

I want to attach a telephone pickup coil which has a standard 3.5mm mic plug to a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone as an external mic.

I tried a TRRS 3.5mm 4 conductor to 3.5mm headset/mic adaptor patch cord (GQ BA-168) but it didn't work.

I know there are issues with switching ground/mic on newer TRRS.

Any suggestions how I can get this to work?

I'm lookiing for an off-the-shelf solution, not involving attaching wires to connectors. I want to buy an adapter that will plug in and work.

A 3.5mm jack, a 3.5mm plug and some wire. Wire the mic to the proper contacts on the plug.
