Thats a feature only between apple devices , if you want you can have Google duo or whatsapp and have iPhone download it to get similar FaceTime experience

..because it is an app that only runs on Apple devices, an app built and controlled by Apple, for Apple device users.

It is an interesting topic. In my opinion, there is no reason why there shouldn't be an interoperability standard for video calls, and then any app maker can make what ever app they want for doing video calls as long as it gets certified against the standard. Kind of like sms, or email, or plain old phone calls.

Apple likes to keep some things to themselves for people to remain on their products like FaceTime and iMessages

Agree. But given that Apple does not have the majority share of phones out there, I would assume that something could be done to force Apple to eventually transition FaceTime and iMessaging to be interoperable with other Video Call apps and Messaging apps, if another set of apps could start to emerge dominant enough that are also open to a set of interoperability standards. Maybe it was tried and didn't really work out, something maybe like what happened with DLNA.

Thy run different OS and only of its kind with its services such as app store and others and pretty much top 3 every year in selling just phones and probably make more money in doing so then other andriods, to me they could care less about bringing anything to Andriod. Oh plus the service centers with Andriod has not even come close to yet .

I agree that Apple couldn't care less about bringing anything to Android. If enough Android users used "FaceAndroid", then none of them would be wondering why they can't interoperate, and only the Apple FaceTime users, who would be isolated on their own, would be posting wondering why they can't "FaceAndroid" from their Apple phones.

Yeah , to me i enjoyed both my iphone and Andriod as i use both platforms but i lean little more to Andriod side because i like tinkering with it and customize to my own .
