I have a Samsung S10 plus originally with Verizon and its unlocked. I am trying to take this phone to work with sprint network but after entering the IMEI on sprint website, Sprint says 'it is not compatible and can't be activated'. Phone details are:

    Model: SM-G975U
    Baseband version: G975USQS1ASD9

Could it be because of baseband version or firmware? Any idea how I could make this phone work on Sprint network, I am stuck right now. Any help, much appreciated.

If you have a friend can try there sim card from sprint. Otherwise by a prepaid card and give it a test drive

OK, I inserted a working Sprint SIM and shut down/restarted the phone few times. Got the message 'SIM card is not from verizon wireless', basically it didn't work

    Ok thank you

It has to be unlocked because when I put a T-Mobile SIM, it worked.

If the phone is less then 90 days from purchase, it is locked to Verizon. It has to be on the Verizon network for that long before it will be automatically unlocked.

By that logic the phone should not have worked when he put the T-Mobile SIM card in. Since the phone worked when he put the T-Mobile SIM in that means that there is some other issue going on that is preventing him from using Sprint SIM.

It basically doesn't say anything apart from that message and of-course it didn't find any network so unable to call or connect to LTE.

I know you said you checked via Sprint website and talked with Sprint rep, but did the rep check the IMEI in their database to confirm?

I did contact both but no help. Verizon says its already unlocked and Samsung says contact verizon. On sprint, it still says 'it can't be activated'.

Make a appointment with Samsung experience store or contact Samsung to send it in for diagnostic . You still have manufacturers warranty

It is because your phone is the "U" variant which means that it has a specific Verizon software load. You should be able to get it to work if you load the U1 version of the software which is truly unlocked and unbranded.

It is not for the faint of heart, but if you head over to XDA developers there are instructions on how to do this.
