I have had several phones the last 4 years including the new Z3 Flip which I use almost daily. For size, specks and just plain overall for my needs this 8/256 S10E is by far the best I have ever had. Just throwing that out there!

Yes, I was looking at "newer phones" and thinking of upgrading but when I looked at the advantages and disadvantages I decided to keep my S10e. Can't see spending close to a thousand bucks for a phone without expandable memory or a headphone jack for minimal performance gains. Plus all the new phones are just to big to use with one hand. I think I would rather pay someone to replace the battery in my s10e for about $70 and just keep enjoying what I have. Can't believe people keep handing out big cash (at least for me) when the companies keep taking away more than they add.

Biggest downside about the S10e is the battery IMO. I would probably have to charge it three times a day lol

Same and same. I wish there were something newer that were this small and kept headphone jack and expandable storage. If Samsung doesn't get its act together, I may have to look at the Sony Xperia 5 V come next year.

It's looking like there is a small S22 among the options. The official announcement date is supposed to be February 8...but for sure there will be no headphone jack and I suspect no expandable memory either.

I LOVE the Samsung Galaxy S10e! I was so close to getting it a few years back! So glad you are loving it! An awesome phone in a neat little package!

I used my S10e more for photos than anything else. I don't store a lot of media in it and I scrupulously try to charge when the phone goes down to at or above 20% and charge to 80% using the Accubattery app. I know that even though I barely use the phone I will have to charge it every day. Accubattery says my battery has 96% of its life left. It has operated flawlessly for me. Other than wanting optical zoom and a dedicated macro lens there are no other features I want. A brighter screen outside would be nice but I can live with what I have. Watching reviews on YouTube can make one lust for something new, but when I look at the images I've taken with the S10e I am quite pleased. I have "real" cameras that will zoom and do macro so my need for those features isn't monumental - they would just be handy when I didn't have a "real" camera with me.

The S10e is by far the best phone I've ever owned. 2 months ago, I was finally able to afford one: got a mint refurb 256G/8G on Amazon for $280 delivered. Lovin' it, and the battery holds strong all the time. It had a mysterious/recurring mobile network connection issue (fighting w/WIFI), but the recent OTA update to Android 12 fixed it. My wife has had an S10e for 2yrs, and is also a pro/certified photographer. Most days she shoots with the S10e, and her heavy camera gear stays in the bag, and the pics are superb.

When I look at the photos I've taken with the S10e with it's "antiquated" camera, having no optical zoom or macro mode, I feel a little sad but I'm very grateful that it takes as good photos as it does. I prefer using it as phone even when I'm in the house because my phone service, provided by my internet provider, is terrible. Half the time there's a lot of static on it and when we have power losses (not infrequent in this Western North Carolina area) I have no landline. The S10e's sound is crystal clear. Unknowingly and without checking we chose to live in a place with a good data signal. There are areas in this vicinity who have NO data reception!

When I visit forums for various Samsung phones I see reports of all sorts of technical problems - phones freezing, apps not working, phones overheating, and many more. I've never had one in the 2.5 years I've had the S10e. It pays to keep it and baby the battery. I try to keep it between 20% and 80% of capacity and remove the cover, which fortunately is flexible to make it easy, when charging. Accubattery says I have 96% of battery left.

I have to think that Samsung made a good marketing decision for themselves by requiring people to get the top of the line in order to get dedicated macro capability.

I can understand Sgooter why your wife likes the S10e camera. I, too, am a skilled photographer who is often called upon to photograph events, many of which have really poor lighting. The other day I brought my Sony A7iii with a f/2.8 maximum lens and it was just to slow to use in the very, very dark (and contrasty) venue. The S10e performed like a champ.
