I mostly use my S10e mobile device (Android 10) on my home WIFI network, but sometimes I use the Mobile Data as well to check emails and browse the internet. If I wanted to save battery performance, would it make sense to turn Mobile Data OFF and only use it as needed? I checked my phone under the SIM Manager details, and it is set to use LTE/4G/3G automatically on SIM-1, which I guess means that once I am out of range from my home WIFI it automatically switches to Mobile Data or Mobile Internet.

Reason I posted this thread under S10e forums, because some phones may use different levels of radio signals that might effect the battery performance, don't know, not really an expert.

Turn off background data on all apps you can. Even on my Note 10+ they cause system slowdowns and glitches.
Did a network reset and all apps are set to background data enabled by default. My Note went nuts.
So bad I thought it could be a virus. Reset most of them to disabled and all's good again.
Doing this will screw up Playstore for one and browsers as well. In app updates and notifications can be effected.

Play with it... Androids need wuv too.

I think turning off mobile data alone won't give you a noticeable battery boost. If you turned on Airplane Mode (which shuts off the entire cell radio, not just mobile data), then turn wi-fi back on, that might save you a bit, depending on how poor your cell signal is at home.

I think if you use medium or adaptive power saving mode can save battery on wifi and data but at the expense of getting notifications instantly.

Yes, that. Then go a little deeper into the settings and try this. Make sure all carrier/3rd party power management apks are disabled.

If I have a refillable SIM card in my phone, how would the payment process go for using Mobile Data? Will the payment be automatically be deducted from the SIM card just as it would be for calling?

By using Mobile Data whenever WiFi is not available, would the payment be deducted as well from the SIM card or will I get a bill in the mail?

That you have to ask the carrier you have prepaid works , some take money as you go while others give 2 to 10gb with the plan once you go over have to pay more .

Best not to use "Optimize Settings" toggle as it causes issues and does little for bat life.
Denying background data usage to most apks makes this Note 10+ run a lot smoother...
Disable animations is good too; it's not needed or even desirable.
Play with it until it hurts, then jump right back in... Android, like a bad gf.

You could always test it with mobile data on, and again with mobile data off, with similar overall usage, and see how it works for you. The experience will likely be different for different people and devices, based on usage patterns and network strength.

Disabled Playstore and make sure to turn off this last toggle at the bottom, diagnostics...

Yes that's normal it reverts to mobile data and I would leave that on .
