I would check to see if your carriers radio bands are supported by the model GS5 you have. You can start by contacting your carrier (or visiting their website) and looking for the supported bands. Also, go into you phones system settings > about phone. Look for the model number and find the frequencies supported by that model number. You can post the model number here and we'll see if it's supported.
Also, make sure you have the correct APN numbers setup for the carrier. That could also be the source of the problem - APNs should be posted on the carriers website or can be obtained online.
