And that's why posting some stupid battery test video, and then declaring the s21 battery to not be worth the upgrade was trash. Give me REAL user data!

Yeah, but you are comparing a S20 that has had multiple updates to tweak battery and S21 with none. When I got Note 20 Ultra I couldn't make thru day with out charging at work..after 2 or 3 updates i had over 50% end of work without charging...Also, with out showing the usage / screen time on both doesn't say much...S20 could have been just sitting in standby since you were using S21 ;)

Gotta give the phone a few days to learn your patterns for the battery. First 3 days with the S21 was not good. 4.5-5 hrs SOT. After that I've been averaging a solid 7+hrs SOT with 15% just left, and with heavy use.

It's still early days for me but days 1 and 2 I was a bit Concerned that battery life wasn't as good as I hoped. Today seems much better.

How much is due to me not fiddling with it as much is hard to say!!!

After a few more days mine has settled down. Its currently saying a full charge will last just over 23h and I've been going to bed with just under 50% charge. For the first time in years I'm considering not charging my phone when I go to bed.

I upgraded from the S10 to the S21 and the battery life was a disappointment initially. However, after a week or so in, it seems to be much better. I did a couple cycles of using the phone until 0%, then charging it to 100%. It helps to break the battery in a bit.

When I heard before release, that Samsung had clocked the global model's Exynos 2100 higher than the Snapdragon 888 devices, I was prepared to take a bit of a hit on battery life.

However, a week in to receiving the global Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra I am impressed by 2 things...

#1 The battery life and SoT has greatly improved and matches my Galaxy S20 Ultra Exynos 990.
#2 How cool the Exynos 2100 runs, even when charging, (31C/88F), or doing benchmark tests.

Charging on the Samsung 25W charger and USB-C-to-C cable is 0% -100% in about an hour. Not far off the S20 Ultra on a 40W charger.

Battery life at 30 hours with 8h 34m SoT + juice left

One thing I noticed was that Sammy need to work on their Always on Display on this phone as it was using around 19% of battery until I took it off, "Show always", and selected, "Tap to show for 10 seconds".

Not very scientific (I forgot to note SoT) but I took my ultra off charge at around 8am yesterday morning. Went to bed last night with 48% charge. I got to 215pm today when, at 4% remaining, I plugged it into 25w charger. 1h20 mins later. Back to 100% charge again!!!

To be fair it wasn't a heavy usage day but so far, I'm happy.

I too went from s10 to s20/21. I've noticed my battery on the s10 to be "better" than on the 20/21.

Even with the bigger battery, battery didn't last as long as the 10. My theory is because the 20/21 are 5g phones.

I'm on VZW. unfortunately I cannot turn off my 5g signal

Is 5g a battery drain even if no 5g signal? I don't have 5g at home and Don't think I'll be able to make use of 5g until I can travel again so would probably turn off to add even more battery life!

I could be wrong, but with the 5g being enabled, it's constantly searching for 5g/UWB signal. Hence the less than stellar battery life.

I'm on vzw's 5g UWB service. My phone constantly searches for 5g signal. Switching from 4g to 5g.

I don't think VZW allows you to switch over to 4g only. At least I couldn't find that option under networks.

I have a 5G plan on EE on SIM #1 and although I cannot receive 5G at home yet, I leave it enabled for travelling. My 2nd SIM is GiffGaff and not on a 5G plan and that is switched to LTE. I do not notice any undue battery drain by using the 5G option on EE.

Yeah my situation is same (I'm on Vodafone though) and 5g is unlikely at my home address for the foreseeable future.

I thought about turning off 5g to save battery but in all honesty I'm impressed with battery life already. Plus I'll probably forget to turn it back on when I'm travelling!!

Coming from the S10 to the regular S21 I am noticing a huge difference in battery life. On the S10 it estimated almost 18hrs of battery life where the S21 is estimating only 10hrs. I notice the difference too. Just from light browsing I can see the battery percentage go down by 1% every other minute or so. Even after 2 years with the S10 my battery would last until 5 or 6pm.

Shouldn't I be getting better battery life with this display? I checked all settings and everything is set up the same as my old phone.

Another thing is the S21 doesn't charge nearly as fast as the S10 does.

Exactly same problem here with S21 Exynos.

I also switched from an S10 to the S21, and below is my S21 battery status. It shows 22 hours of battery time after a full charge based on my daily usage.

Granted, because of the COVID lockdown I haven't traveled much away from my home, so maybe that is affecting my battery usage?
