Just purchased a S21 Ultra, coming from an iPhone, I like using the default Sam Pass as my password manager to get the same or nearly the same experience autofilling passwords. Has anyone else experienced this behavior or know of a work around?

When logging into websites and apps, when it works its great but I will get "this is not a password field so samsung pass will not auto full your password here" when it doesn't work automatically. I'll open sam pass in the keyboard, authenticate, find my password manually and try to fill it but get that error. I'll have to open sam pass > "edit" the password > copy > go back to the app or website and paste it in.

After that, it won't give me the option to save the password for future use after logging in. One of my favorite things about iOS is the Keychain, works great and I can manually fill in passwords if needed. I don't remember on my previous samsung phones having this problem. I've used 3rd party password managers but it's a poor experience, constantly pops up when I'm not trying to enter a password, pop up blocks other areas of the display and can't close it out.

I haven't run into that issue with Pass but you can also use Google autofill , I use them both .

I've never used Google it's not very secure, I don't save any passwords in browsers unless what you are referring to us different. Here is an example:

You can see it's a username and password field but was not autofilled. So I click on the username which will automatically populate, then when I click on the password field and try to autofill, it gives me the "this is not a password field error.Samsung Pass-screenshot_20210525-100946_photos.jpg

Why you think Google not secure?

You see the option is here in settings>general management>auto fill it gives you both options you can use .

I have had some quirks with Samsung Pass. Google is a lot better.

I was just reading that they finally allow you to use biometrics prior to autofilling. I've never saved passwords to Chrome or any other browser as it's way to easy to gain access to view them, even with a password set.
