    Hi!

In my Galaxy S21+ I have the Accessibility app pre-installed from Galaxy Store. It contains TalkBack and a few other services but there is no 'Select to Speak' app which I want to use. The Select to Speak app is a part of Android Accessibility Suite which can be installed from Google Play. The suite also includes Accessibility Menu and TalkBack. Do you think it would be a good idea to install the Android Accessibility Suite over existing Samsung's Accessibility app (the latter cannot be uninstalled)? I'd like to make sure since some services will overlap in functionality.

    Matt

    Hi,
Thank you for the reply and for moving my thread.
The Accessibility app is available in Galaxy Store -> https://galaxystore.samsung.com/prep....accessibility
The are screenshots provided in the Store (no differences between them and my phone).
In the first screen there is the last option at the bottom 'About Accessibility' - there is a version number and also a link to Galaxy Store.

Yes. Because the Accessibility app is a part of Settings. The app adds the Accessibility menu and a few features/services visible in this screen:

The problem is that there is no 'Select to Speak' feature which was available in older Galaxy phones.

At first I thought so too, but read a few articles and it turned out that these are two different options.
"The main difference is that TalkBack is always on and reading constantly whatever you’re pointing at, while 'Select to speak' can be accessed whenever needed. Also, TalkBack is based on a set of specific gestures, but with Select to Speak, users can use regular gestures to interact with their devices."
That's why I thought 'Select to Speak' would be better for my uses.

    Hi,
I just found this information in one of the articles. I thought it might be useful to other users.

Also, bear in mind that there are likely to be brand-specific accessibility features on your phone as well. In the case of the Samsung phone we have at hand there are a few Samsung-specific apps mixed in with the Google suite.
While the Google apps are designed to work together, there’s a good chance that running other accessibility apps at the same time will cause conflicts or weird behavior. So take care only to activate the apps you need and are going to use.
Many thanks for your help, Mustang!
