[UPDATE 11/24/21] See post #15

It seems it is not U.S. users imagination, there really is a lag bug on their Snapdragon models on their Android 12, One UI 4, rollout.

The good news is that Samsung have promised to fix it in the next update.

This issue does not affect the global, Exynos, devices.

"One such bug breaks the adaptive refresh rate on the Galaxy S21 series and locks the display to 60Hz, leading to a janky scrolling experience in apps."

This is good to know. They never should have released it like this. Glad the fix is in the works. Hopefully we have it in the next couple weeks.

I don't really see any promise by Samsung, or any mention of the "next" update. There's merely a statement by a beta forum moderator that they've alerted Samsung devs to the continuing problem (which was also present in the beta releases). I think I'll hold off on updating until that and a few other reported problems have actually been fixed.

There's really is a lag especially scrolling the Google Discover feed. I left the Android 12 beta and then the lag went away. Downloaded the release of Android 12 this morning and the lag is back. Factory reset for the second time and the lag is still there.

No lag at all on my s21 5g at all. Downloaded the Android 12 update after the last beta.

Re: Samsung to fix lag bug on U.S. S21's

This was a prominent bug during beta4. Not everyone experienced it, but it was prevalent. Looks like Sammy was more committed to the release date than to getting it right. I am still in beta and have set my phone to refresh at 60 hz, just to bypass the stutter. Someone from the beta downgraded just today to 3.1. It's a mess (unless you're like o4liberty without any issues, lol).

Problems solved. Switched from Nova to stock launcher. No more lag in Discover feed. Wallpaper is now fixed too. You can now use custom icons with the stock UI so no real need for me to use Nova anymore.

Yes it is weird and very annoying. It's definitely a Samsung problem as my Pixel 6 Pro also on Android 12 has no such problem and is buttery smooth.

The last update fixed the stuttering on my s21ultra. SakiTech reported the same fix in one of his tubes.

Samsung have begun rolling out a new update to fix the lag on U.S. models.

"The new build is G99xUSQU4BUK9 (where "x" is different according to which S21 family member you have), and it's coming to replace the previous G99xUSQU4BUK7 on US carrier models. For now, the new build showed up at Verizon, but we expect it to reach the other carriers' units very soon."

Got the update a couple days ago on my Verizon S21+. Some apps stay on 120HZ while others still revert back to 60HZ while scrolling. I would say it affects about half of my apps.

I got the update as well and I also notice that in chrome and the Amazon app if I scroll slowly it is 120hz but if I scroll quickly it drops to 60hz where as in the phone settings and Tapatalk it stays 120hz regardless of scroll speed.
