Does this setting actually completely block unknown numbers and spam? Or does it just send them straight to voicemail?

I don't know, never seen it before. Mine was on and set to high potential spam only. I changed it to all to see what happens.

For me it mainly blocked calls from Uber eats drivers lol. UNACCEPTABLE!

By "blocked" you mean sent straight to voice mail, or that you never received any indication at all of the attempted call?

Never received any notification apart from the Uber eats app telling me the driver tried to call.
I assume it went to voicemail, but they didn't leave a message.

I turned it on for "all." As long as the blocked calls get sent to voicemail there's not much risk to giving it a try for me.

I had it was blocking customers of mine so wasn't getting there calls I found out lol

Yes that's true, but a missed customer call could be a lost business opportunity.

Thankfully for me a missed call is never a big deal.

Only way I have found is to turn voice mail off thru verizon. I did that a few years ago, for me best thing I've done. No more voicemails for spam.
I understand not everyone can go without it.
