What does the "block spam calls" setting in the dialer app do? Send to voicemail?

Does this setting actually completely block unknown numbers and spam? Or does it just send them straight to voicemail?

I don't know, never seen it before. Mine was on and set to high potential spam only. I changed it to all to see what happens.

For me it mainly blocked calls from Uber eats drivers lol. UNACCEPTABLE!

Does anyone know if the Google dialer works now? It was very broken last I tried it.

By "blocked" you mean sent straight to voice mail, or that you never received any indication at all of the attempted call?

Never received any notification apart from the Uber eats app telling me the driver tried to call.

I assume it went to voicemail, but they didn't leave a message.

Yeah it blocks them but they still can leave a voice mail. It's a feature called Hiya, I have it also on my unlocked Note20u
You tap where it says Block spam and scam calls it takes it my screenshot.

Have you tried blocking all spam and scam calls? Wonder if it blocks to much.

I turned it on for "all." As long as the blocked calls get sent to voicemail there's not much risk to giving it a try for me.

I had it was blocking customers of mine so wasn't getting there calls I found out lol

but it was sending them to voicemail, right, so at least you had a way of knowing that they called?

Yes that's true, but a missed customer call could be a lost business opportunity.

Yeah I can see how that wouldn't work for some people.

Thankfully for me a missed call is never a big deal.

Only way I have found is to turn voice mail off thru verizon. I did that a few years ago, for me best thing I've done. No more voicemails for spam.

I understand not everyone can go without it.
