    Hi all,

I have historically still used my iPod for listening to music, but was thinking about dropping my music in a music folder on my S22 Ultra. I am not sure how it will look, but are there any apps these days that produce a nice music management layout that you would recommend?

    Thanks

I use iSyncr from JRT Studio. It's in Play. They also make the Rocket Music Player app.

It syncs my iTunes library fairly well. Youn can use a USB cable to your computer or WiFi to sync.

There isn't any "management" other than getting your tunes to your phone, but it will keep them in their artist and album folders, sync album art, etc.

Android is good for getting music on/off the phone (unlike iOS). Simply drop them in a folder on the phone (or SD card), and then most music players will self organize a library based on the tags within the files (album, artist, genre, year, etc...).

To be honest, I can't stand iOS because of iTunes for that exact reason, in terms of ridiculous (in my opinion) for not being able to easily control/manage the music files. However, I guess that's because Apple wants you to do all of that only from the cloud, through their music store.

A couple of years ago I switched to an iphone pro max to give it a try. I have about 100 gigs of music using various file types. As a musician I have regular music files and also bits of things that we're working on that are usually flac files. Itunes didn't handle various files types but even worse is that it wanted to do what it wanted with my music. It was a total nightmare. I got rid of that phone within three months and shouldn't have waited that long.

iPhone is fine if you just want an easy to run, nice phone, but if you have lots of music it is total, absolute crapware. Worst OS in the world for a serious musician.

iOS is fine if you want to do things the way that Apple wants you to. For people that like to normally have a level of their own organized control over their stuff and information with/on their computers/devices, iOS for those people is a nightmare unless one "surrenders to Apple's ways".

You could try Samsung Smart switch on PC to back up your Itunes then transfer to your device, I never tried it but something to look into .

If you end up dropping your albums into the Music folder, Poweramp is my go-to for a local music player. Very customizable and well organized.

I second Poweramp. I've been using it for over 7 years.

Nice... I will probably try Poweramp and iSync. That's very helpful.

I have been using my old school iPod with a wheel for so long and I just know it's going to go up on me anytime now (I have been through 4 of these since 2006 or so). I figured that now it's time for me to integrate my music life with my phone life, since they have been separate for all these years and there is no way I would buy an iPhone. Plus, my work phone is an iPhone and I detest it.

I 2nd this as it's the combo I used to use. Now, the Apple Music app alone meets my needs.

Poweramp used to be my choice. I switched to Neutron several years ago after doing a side-by-side comparison.

You can't go wrong with either.

That's funny because I used to use Neutron and switched to Poweramp. I agree they're both great.

I liked the sound quality better with Neutron.
