S3 Mini Froze and It Won't Turn Back On

I was returning from school and was looking for some videos on the Youtube app when it froze. I waited out about ten minutes and it still was frozen, therefore I kept the power button to turn it off and now I can turn it back on.

I switched my battery with my mom's cellphone battery since we have the same model and it worked fine with hers while mine continued to be off.

What happened? How can I fix it?
