USB audio is enabled on Texas Instruments Blaze tablet, which is targeted at developers.

Anyone with a passing familiarity with me will know this was one of the questions I most wanted an answer to. You see Supercurio was able to ascertain that USB audio drivers are present on the S3, only there was no way for him to know whether they work out of the box.

Sadly it seems they do not.
To my great disappointment there was no audio output on connecting my FiiO E17 USB DAC and headphone amplifier. I guess we'll just have to keep waiting for some enterprising developer to make use of those orphaned drivers that are just sitting there on the S3..."

Small question, does the Nuforce uDac work with the phone (usb audio) or do you not have it to test? If I were to get one of those usb cables I could try mine out and let you know

If you're referring to usb audio it's the idea that you can hook up a USB DAC (Digital analog converter usually reserved for computer use) and hook it up to this device bypassing the internal dac (improving audio quality/dynamics). As far as I can tell all one needs is a otg usb adaptor that plugs into the bottom of the device and a USB DAC. Hope that helps.

As far as I know, there is no interworking test between a Galaxy S III and a NuForce uDAC for the time being.

Apparently "Galaxy S3 + (some) USB DAC" and "(some) computer + (some) USB DAC" have at least the same sound quality:

"How about the SQ of the S3 + NuForce Icon HDP? What headphones do you use?"

"It's quite good. Slightly, not very noticeable, better than it was connected to my computer.
So if you wanna know more about this, you can just simply refer to those review of HDP.
P.S. I am using HD600 & UM1 for testing"
