Wi Fi Hot spot not working correctly

I have a international S3 and I am having issues with the Wi Fi Hotspot. After fiddling around I can get my Galaxy Tab 10.1 to connect and access the internet, my desktop pc will connect but with limited or no connectivity.

After a bit of googling it seems to be ICS 4.04 related as there are a few complaints on the Sony forum after they updated to it.

Anybody else having these issues or know of a workaround?

The plot thickens, my laptop running Windows 7 will also connect.Desktop runs XP, Samsung support says take battery out and try, and then hard reset and try. If that fails return to shop for replacement as its less than 30 days old
