I have a pre-ordered a GS3 on June 6th which I hope to get soon. I have created a gmail account. Does google sync get loaded on my pc or BB9810? I want to make sure that all addresses and phone numbers as well as important appointments and birthdays make it to my new phone from Outlook.

It gets loaded on your PC. Make sure your first sync is one way TO Google. Then when you get your GS3, you'll enter your Gmail account and all your info will dump onto your new phone.

How do I make sure that my Outlook and Google stay in sync? This is all so new to me coming from RIM 9810.

Whenever there were OS updates for my BB9810 that were carrier approved, I would be notified by the device or I would see it on a site like this one. Does the OS update occur OTA? How often do carriers update their OS versions?

I just got my GS3 on Thursday. Is the WiFi smart in terms that it only connects in the presence of a wireless connection? On my BB9810, you had to get an app SmartWiFi. Otherwise, it would only drain the battery being on.

That was very helpful. I was able to add email and internet access to the lock screen as well as the weather. Already had rotate function for camera so I was able to add an icon in its place.

Adding email and already having messaging also gives access to Contacts without having to add it.

Question: Does adding weather to the lock screen consume battery life?
