SD Card Mounting and Quick Setting Changes

I have a new 32gb microSD card for my 16gb S3 but when I look for it, it isn't recognized. I tried it on my DX and it shows up. I even tried a different card from my DX and it didn't recognize that, too. Is there something else I need to do?

Also, I noticed that some people have the WiFi icon in their quick settings. However, I don't see it in mine and don't see where to add it? I'm on Verizon.

As an update, I spoke with Verizon and they said it was a hardware failure so they are sending me a new one.
