Does your office network use authentication? Sometimes there is a captive portal you have to login to from your web browser before things will work. Is this a router you're able to access and reboot?

Any Office is likely to have security features to prevent just anyone from accessing the network. A likely feature would be Mac Address filtering. And, as mentioned, there could be additional filtering in place.

You need to check with your Office IT folks to find out what you have to do to gain access to the WiFi network.

Sorry to cover the basics, but it's hard to determine exactly what people know. This screenshot shows how to identify whether a WiFi connection is Secured or Open:Obtaining ip address-uploadfromtaptalk1355470198598.jpgIf it's Secured, you normally just have to provide the correct (case-sensitive) password and you're good to go. If it's Open, you'll usually see a prompt like this one:Obtaining ip address-uploadfromtaptalk1355470371400.jpgAs noted by Trucky, it's pretty common for locations with an Open network to require some form of authentication/acknowledgement, which they usually enforce via web browser redirection - the first time you open a browser, you'll be redirected to their site where you're asked to accept their usage policies, or you'll be prompted to enter your credentials. You'll normally see a notification in the Notification bar (sorry, I don't have a screenshot of that, but it looks like the WiFi icon with a question mark next to it) if that's the case.

It's also possible that the IT folks are enforcing additional security measures, like MAC filtering or VPN - you'd have to get the specifics from them to proceed.
