Facebook is downloading something to my phone, I have no idea what it is. Never gave access to this, and I manually update all my apps. Pulled the battery to stop it, and it's right back at it. What's the deal with this?

The same thing just happened to me. I restarted my phone and it is still running. I saw another post on another website about this and it was in the same time period as us.

The solution is to either turn on WiFi, click the download, it will open an in app update. allow the new build to install, or manual force stop the install by going to your download manager and trashing it.

Yes, I ended up long pressing it in the notification pull down, hit "app info" and then force close/cleared data and that seemed to do the trick. Unfortunately now i'm getting the process.com.gapps or whatever the error code is. None of my apps are working. Excellent.

Ha! Thanks. I guess I just disabled it when I canceled out the download from this facebook crap. That took care of the problem. Thanks again.

On Jelly Bean, it just starts right back up again after a force stop.

I uninstalled Facebook then turned on Wifi and connected to a network. It stopped after that. I then reinstalled Facebook. What a mess.

I have a Revolution, by the way.

I've had the same problem on my HTC Rezound for a week. I tried everything and this finally worked. I put it in airplane mode then only turned on the WiFi. It finished the download within a few seconds and hasn't come back. I read on another droid forum that the download needs a WiFi only connection and I keep my phone on LTE so that was my problem.

Made this account just to let you know what I did to solve this problem. I took the battery out, without turning off my phone. Then I took out the sim card. Turned the phone back on. Go into your download history, it will show things you download all month and things that are processing. It will show Facebook build paused. I clicked the box next to it, gave me the option to cancel/clear selection hit cancel download. Good luck
