Handwriting to Text

I can't seem to get the feature to write and it comes out as text. The feature to write with your finger. I can't get it.

Are you using the stock (Samsung) keyboard? If so, you need to enable T9 Trace - go to Settings -> Language and input and select the gear symbol to the right of the Samsung keyboard, then be sure T9 Trace is checked.

Edit: BTW, there's also the Swype keyboard, which does what you're describing. You just need to make that the Default keyboard - in the Language and input screen, just select Default and it'll let you pick which one you want to use.

Thanks. I made Samsung keyboard my default so I saw it. I had Swype as my keyboard.

I'm really confused now - if you were using Swype all this time, why were you having problems with gesture typing? That's the whole point of Swype.

I'm nit having trouble with Gesture type. I was having trouble with the keyboard where the keyboard would just be blank and you would write the letters/words yourself with your finger.
