    Anybody know why there is a folder on the root drive of my phone named sdcard and then another one in the "storage" folder named sdcard0? They both have exactly the same contents/files. I'd like to delete one of them if they are in fact just duplicate folders.

    don't delete it, they're mount points pointing to the same thing. You delete one, the other is deleted.

    If you want to confuse yourself even further (or learn something) open the "mnt" folder in that view that you posted.
