'Messaging' says i have new messages but I DONT!

There is a '2' on my Messaging icon which normally means that i have two unread messagesBut i dont have any unread message.I checked all other folders as well (Draft messages,locked messages,spam messages etc.)

I tried everything; restarting,deleting all the shortcuts but its not disappearing.

So annoying,anyone help ?

I was going nuts myself trying to figure out why in the world it says I have messages when I don't. So one day I started clicking every single message I had, whether received or sent. I found out it was messages I had sent. I guess it's one of those weird quirks. At least I solve the mystery and it's easily correctable. Irritating, but correctable.
