Just bought a Sasmung Galaxy S3 & it will not charge

My brand new phone just doesn't seem to charge, I just got it today, the battery was at 50% & it is just going down. This is so frustrating....

I've also tried my wife's battery in my phone & it doesn't charge either but ive tried my battery in her phone & it charges no problem so its obviously a problem with my new phone.

Ive checked a few sites & ive heard of people lift the piece in the phone when the charger goes, ive given this a little go but it doesn't make a difference.

Id there anything else I can do? :-(

Yeah, I will have. I bought it through Amazon, I wanted to see if there is anything else I could do first.

I wouldn't mess around. It should be flawless new, out of the box, if its not, get one that is.
