Backing up my samsung Galaxy S3

I was told to do this through this link -
How do I sync content to Cloud services on my Samsung Galaxy Note? II? : T-Mobile Cell Phones | Samsung

I know it says it's for a Note but would this work the same way?
If so, it doesn't make much sense.

The only app that I can find is G Gloud, is this the best thing to use?
Though it doesn't seem to let you back up entries on the S Planner.

If you're looking to sync your Samsung account information (whatever that includes) then yes, it should work. You'll just find it in Settings, under the Accounts group.

You can also use something like Cloud Drive: http://market.android.com/details?id=com.amazon.clouddrive.photos to backup your pictures/videos to the cloud (5GB free).

Mainly calendar entry's, phone numbers, photos etc...

Calendar and phone numbers shouldn't be a big deal if you synced with Google. Photos can easily be uploaded to Drive or Drop box.
