Galaxy S3: display not working?

It's only the display, I suppose. The phone dropped and it doesn't have any visible damage, but when it starts up, there's a green line across the screen and it turns purple, then black. The lights by the home button still light up. Sound is fine, all my alarms decided to go off! Notification light is there.
When I try to boot it, nothing comes up, just a vibration. Is there something I can do or would I just have to get it repaired??

I guess it depends on what you mean by 'is there something I can do' - you can order a replacement screen assembly and swap the parts yourself; or you can send it off and have someone do it for you.
