Is the Galaxy S3 still a good phone?

I'm on Virgin Mobile and between the LG Volt and the Galaxy S3, I think the S3 may be the better deal even though it's a 2-year-old phone. The Galaxy S3's specs still look pretty good, especially compared to the other inexpensive phones on Virgin Mobile. But what do you think? Would all those good specs have crapped out over 2 years or is it still good? I'm buying my S3 used and it looks to be in pretty good condition, but I'm still wondering if maybe I should just get the Volt instead...

I do like the options on the S3, though. I was thinking of replacing the plastic back plate with an aluminum one, and I might also replace the 2100 mAh battery with a bigger battery, so there's that... Is the Volt still better though, since it's newer or is the S3 still a good phone?

I think the S3 is still a great phone. The specs on it are higher than some of the mid range phones out right now. The S3 can be had pretty cheap now too.
