Samsung Galaxy S3 won't connect via USB to car audio

Hi!

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-I9305T and whenever I try to connect it through the USB port of my car (Hyundai i30) to listen to music:
1) my car fails to recognise it,
2) then my phone's screen comes up with an error message (saying something along the lines of needing to download a software?), and
3) my car keeps searching for the device even when I press the FM/AM button in my car; therefore, I can't even use the USB port to simply charge my phone!

So I was just wondering if anyone knew what I can do to make it work? I am aware I can use an aux cord, but it makes static noises when it moves the slightest bit.

Hello and welcome to the forums!

A screenshot of the message shown on your phone after you connect it to the car would be helpful.

I don't suppose your car/audio system supports Bluetooth?

I can't explain why the audio system won't allow you to switch to a different source. You could just use a standard car charger, or look for a charge-only cable.
