SamsungIII gives grey box(man&Lghtngbolt) for some txted pics? Pic shows fine in Gallery

I receive a photo txted to me. Grey box with man & lightning bolt. Can't open it....So I click and save it. Go to Gallery and it shows up fine. However, if you try to do more than look at thumbnail of pic, you get the grey error box again....WHY? How can this be resolved. It's only a few photos...everyone else on list gets photo fine. Just me with the Samsung has this happen.

Welcome to the forums. Is the sender using a different platform, like Apple? The photo format might not be compatible.
